Anatomy of the template editor
Editing templates
A major function of documentool.online is creating and editing your document templates. The editor has a lot of features and that may be a little overwhelming at first. The editor consists of several types of elements that you can place in a document:
- main structure - elements that can be placed anywhere on a document
- groups - blocks of elements that are grouped together. For instance, an address.
- repeaters - elements that are repeated by iterating over a list. For instance, rows in a table.
The main components of the editor consist of the Dynamic data
and the PDF Preview
.
Relating data to document
Changing the Dynamic data can have an effect on the PDF. But this effect is guided by the elements in structure
,
groups
and repeaters
